Things To Do In NYC: Garment District Arts Festival 2015
Yesterday started the 2015 NYC Garment District Arts Festival! Through tomorrow, local artists, performers and galleries will put their art on display for the public. I had the chance to view some of the amazing art on display and watch some great performers!
During my journey to see some works of art, I stumbled across Bene Rialto! This business is New York’s only retail incubator featuring Women’s and Men’s clothing and accessories, home gifts, and artists’ works. Yesterday, they also celebrated their 1 year anniversary in NYC! Congratulations! Bene Rialto is truly modern and committed to helping people BE who they are. The artists’ which are highlighted include Russ Kobrinsky, Kamran Sabahi and Andrea Cook. This business is located at 13 West 38th Street New York.
For more information regarding Bene Rialto and all that they do, visit their website!
This bronze sculpture is featured at the Archer Hotel at 45 W 38th Street New York. It was inspired by couture fashion. Thea Lanzisero is known for creating whimsical and quirky art. She is featured artist at the Sculptors Guild Gallery in Brooklyn and last year, had her solo exhibition, “Mythology” displayed their.
During this festival so far, I have seen some great performers from music to twirling hula hoops! Featured in the video below is the talented Hula Hooper Lauryn Yovino aka Snowflake. She not only performs but makes handmade hoops, clothing, and artwork.
One performance I was able to get involved in was the Postcard Project organized by Connie Perry. With this project you write and color one of their DEAR postcards to whomever you want. It can be a friend, NYC, or family! You have the option to leave it on display, mail it, or take it home. I created my own DEAR postcard to Ride Of Fame!
