An actor who has devoted his life to acting and giving us great movie after great movie will finally win what he has longed for, an Academy Award.

We first saw young Leo in the sci fi film, Critters 3 and ever since, we have watched him become the biggest actor in movies today! In the past decade or so, any movie Leo was featured in were instantly talked about, a must watch, and undoubtedly brought up discussions on whether or not it would finally be the year he would win.

Unfortunately, we have yet to see DiCaprio walk up to the stage and be given an Oscar along with his acceptance speech, but this year is going to be different!

While the official nominations for the Academy Awards have yet to be announced, there is no doubt The Revenant, Directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, as well as DiCaprio will receive nods for the exceptional work in the film.

We all acknowledge how great DiCaprio career has been and that it is finally his time to receive an Academy Award that has been long overdue.

Leonardo DiCaprio not only deserves to finally win an Oscar for his tremendous works collectively but for the simple fact that The Revenant was actually a great movie! It fully highlighted the acting skills we have come to love and expect from Leo.

Much like his previous movies such as Titanic, Shutter Island, Inception, and so on, DiCaprio dives into full character, having you convinced of his role.

Previously, DiCaprio was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (1994), and received nods for Best Actor in films The Aviator (2005), Blood Diamond (2007), and The Wolf of Wall Street (2014) which all resulted in losses.

Personally, I believe he should have won Best Actor for The Wolf of Wall Street. The one scene that convinced me DiCaprio was on another level was during the Lemmon scene when the drugs finally kicked in. His slur of speech, the crawling to the car, the many different attempts in opening the car in contorted body positions all made for a memorable scene.

It was shot and done perfectly. The narration of the character, the decision to have no music in the background, the different camera angles altogether worked very well, and convinced me it was going to be DiCaprio’s year.

Like many of the other previous years when DiCaprio was nominated, he is once again up against other great films and actors for an Oscar this year.

This year under the Best Actor category, it is safe to assume Michael Fassbender for his work in Steve Jobs and Eddie Redmayne for The Danish Girl will make up for some stiff competition.

Just recently, DiCaprio and The Revenant came out victorious at the Golden Globes. DiCaprio walked away winning Best Actor in a Drama Motion Picture, Director Alejandro González Iñárritu won Best Director of a Motion Picture, and The Revenant won Best Motion Picture.

Winning at the Golden Globes is an achievement in and of itself, but everyone is awaiting the moment DiCaprio wins at the highest level where the best of the best are recognized, the Academy Awards.

Everyone sees the brilliance and passion Leonardo DiCaprio brings to the screen. His own peers from Brad Pitt to Will Smith, stood to applaud him at the Golden Globes.

Now just imagine and picture how great and epic it would be for everyone at the Oscars to stand up, applaud and congratulate Leo for an Oscar he would finally receive!

The Academy Awards air live on February 28th.
