While Batman and Superman are the obvious headliners for the upcoming DC Comics movie, another character that should be receiving just as much attention, if not more, is, the Amazon Princess, Wonder Woman!

While we have seen quite a few female super heroes on the big screen as well as on TV, from Black Widow in the Marvel World to Jessica Jones in the Netflix original, Wonder Woman is quite different.

We will finally get to see a female superhero who is front and center with the guys and being able to hold her own as one of the most iconic superheroes in comic book history.

In both Marvel and DC Comics, we have yet to see a female superhero take the lead in a role as iconic as Wonder Woman. In Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman will be changing all that!

It was evident in the first trailer of Batman V Superman, that Wonder Woman has the abilities and powers to be right there with the fellas. Funny enough, she was the one to actually saving Batman in the trailer!

Right beside the Bat of Gotham and the Son of Krypton, Wonder Woman not only will look to aid them but to also be a presence and a force as an independent character.

In an interview with GlamourGal Gadot who is playing Princess Diana of Themyscira, said:

“For BvS it was important for me that we show how independent she is. She is not relying on a man, and she’s not there because of a love story. She’s not there to serve someone else. She has so many strengths and powers, but at the end of the day she’s a woman with a lot of emotional intelligence. She’s loving.”

Gadot saying this gives insight of what the character will be about throughout her story line within the DC Cinematic Universe. It is a refreshing point of view where a female superhero will now be viewed as a superhero ready and willing to do what is right and just.

With the superheroes in films today heavily dominated by men, Gal Gadot challenges us as to what Wonder Woman could be and finally gives young girls an iconic superhero to look up to.

Although Wonder Woman’s solo film is scheduled to release next year in the summer 2017, getting a glimpse of her in the upcoming Batman V Superman was necessary. Having Wonder Woman being introduced early on in such an important film of the DC Cinematic Universe will give viewers a taste of whats to come.
