Tyrion Lannister Should Win the Game of Thrones

With Game of Thrones Season 6 going to premiere, it seemed only fitting to put in my two cents as to who should sit on the Iron Throne. Out of all the characters, my bet is on Tyrion Lannister.

Besides that I LOVE Tyrion, who is played by Peter Dinklage, he seems like the best and most logical choice. Here is why I believe why Tyrion should rule the Seven Kingdoms.

1. Knows the Ways of Westeros

Since he grew up as a Lannister, Tyrion clearly knows the ways of Westeros, which is imperative to be an effective ruler. He has experience as Hand of the King to the despicable Joffrey and defended King’s Landing in the Battle of Blackwater.

Tyrion knows who all the key players are and uses his connections in the Kingdom wisely such as Varys. Now, Tyrion is advisor to Daenerys Targaryen! He clearly knows how to play the Game of Thrones!

2. Great Personality!

A little personality ruling Westeros wouldn’t hurt! It would be a definite upgrade compared to past rulers. He is likeable, smart, knowledgeable and of course, funny! Take this classic moment for example:

No hesitation and utterly hilarious! Tyrion just standing up to Joffrey puts him at the top of my list of who should rule!

3. Not afraid to speak his mind

All those who have watched Game of Thrones know that Tyrion is not afraid to speak his mind! Whether it’s as an advisor or just speaking the truth, I admire this quality. You know where he stands on subjects and what his opinions are. A perfect example of this is his EPIC trial speech!

4. True Heir of the Iron Throne

After the death of Robert Baratheon, the throne went to Robert and Cersei Lannister’s son Joffrey. Of course, after Joffrey’s death, his brother Tommen took the throne.

However, as we all know, the father of Cersei’s children is clearly her brother Jaime Lannister! So with this being the case, the throne would have to stay in the family and go to the next eligible Lannister, Tyrion. Yes, I didn’t forget about Jaime Lannister! However, Jaime has no claim since he is still part of the Kingsguard.

Another theory as to why I believe he is the true heir, is because his father may have been Aerys II Targaryen. There is proof that Aerys was interested in Tyrion’s mother Johanna. This theory would also explain why Tywin hated Tyrion and constantly reminded him that he killed his mother. If this is true, he would be the next in line to rule through lineage.

There are many other characters who could rule Westeros. But realistically, Tyrion Lannister is the rightful King of the Seven Kingdoms!
