We are headed to a rematch of the 2015 NBA Finals!

After the Golden State Warriors completed an incredible comeback, down 3-1, against the Oklahoma City Thunder, they now face a familiar opponent in LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

We will be treated with arguably two of the best basketball players in the world going head to head on the biggest stage of basketball, the NBA Finals. The reigning MVP and NBA Champion Stephen Curry goes up against the four time MVP and two time NBA Champion LeBron James.

While everyone has an opinion on who is the better player, I’m here to tell you LeBron James is! And it isn’t even close! Let’s take a look:

There is no doubt that Steph Curry is the best shooter in the game right now, and maybe in history… eventually. Aside from the great shooting we have grown accustomed to seeing, we have to look at the other statistics that make a great player.

Here are some key regular season statistics to look at:
(Points, rebounds, assists, steals and field goal percentage)

27.2 PPG 7.2 RPG 6.9 APG 1.7 SPG .498 FG%

22.4 PPG 4.3 RPG 6.9 APG 1.8 SPG .477 FG%

Whose statistics looks better? The first one of course! And as you might have guessed it, those stats belong to King James!

Granted LeBron has played more seasons than Curry, but he is an all around player known to play both sides of the game as he’s made the All-NBA Team twelve times and All-Defensive Team six times! Curry on the other hand has made the All-NBA three times and has yet to make the All-Defensive team.

More Vital to his Team

You take out LeBron James and Steph Curry from their respective teams, how well do you think their teams would do? Would they even make the playoffs?

How about you put either players on the worst team, who do you think would have a greater influence and greater chance at winning? No question this goes to LeBron James.

Being the all around player that he is makes him very versatile and can be placed in all five positions, from point guard to center. Especially today in how teams like the Golden State Warriors play small ball, LeBron at center would be no problem.

Steph Curry is exceptional in the position he plays at point guard. But his size is what limits him from playing different positions. Where Curry outshines LeBron in shooting, LeBron gets the advantage in almost every other category.

The True MVP

LeBron James is a once in a lifetime player. While people love to draw comparisons to himself, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson (the list can go on and on), the fact is that he is a very unique talent. To be even compared to such greats is an accomplishment in and of itself.

While Steph Curry is currently dazzling the league and its fans with his half court threes, and his ridiculous ankle breaking handles, we should not forget that this league still belongs to”The King,” LeBron James.
