David Wright is an American baseball player born on December 20, 1982. He currently plays third base for the New York Mets and is considered one of the best third baseman in Mets history.
David made his major league debut on July 21, 2004 as a third baseman for the Mets, against the Montreal Expos. Since then he has been an integral part of the Mets’ success. He is a Golden Glove winner, Silver Slugger Award winner, six-time National League All-Star and Rookie of the Year in 2004. As a Met, David has records in career RBI, doubles, total bases runs scored and hits.
In 2005, David established the David Wright Foundation to raise funds and awareness for multiple sclerosis. As the foundation grew, its mission changed to provide aid and assistance toward the health, emotional development and education for children in need in the New York Tri-State and Norfolk metro areas. Future plans for David’s foundation include a library located in children’s units in the New York Tri-State and Norfolk metro areas.
David is currently playing third base for the Mets. We cannot wait to cheer David on as he leads the Mets to victory!
