LL COOL J is an American musician and actor born on January 14, 1968. He is most known for his singles “I Need Love” and “Momma Said Knock You Out.” LL COOL J has released 13 albums in his musical career, as well as two greatest hits albums. His newest album,
Authentic, will hit stores in April 2013.
LL COOL J’s first album,
Radio (1985), received much critical acclaim. Singles such as “I Can’t Live Without My Radio” and “Rock the Bells” helped the album go platinum with 1.5 million sales. LL COOL J’s follow up album,
Bigger and Deffer, released the hit single “I Need Love”. It was LL COOL J’s fourth album,
Mamma Said Knock You Out (1990), that became his biggest seller to date. As a result of this album, he won his first Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance. Following that, LL COOL J’s romantic slow jam, “Hey Lover”, won his second Grammy for the same category.
By the late 1990s, LL COOL J’s acting career was in full effect. He appeared in films such as
B.A.P.S (1997),
Halloween H20 (1998),
Any Given Sunday,
Rollerball,
Deliver Us from Eva,
Mindhunters and
S.W.A.T. He is also a regular on
NCIS: Los Angeles and portrays a Special Agent.
LL COOL J is currently stepping back into the music industry. He released his newest album,
Authentic, in April 2013.
