Gray Line New York's "Ride of Fame" Campaign Honors Yankees Legend Reggie Jackson
Leading NYC Tourism Company Celebrates Exemplary New Yorkers with its Bus Dedication Series
New York, NY - October 2010: Gray Line New York, New York City's premier double-decker bus and motorcoach tourism company, announces that legendary New York Yankee and Hall of Fame inductee, Reggie Jackson, will be honored as this month's "Ride of Fame" dedicatee. Jackson will unveil a personalized Gray Line New York bus with his likeness on the front of the vehicle in a ceremony at the iconic Original SoupMan storefront on 55th Street and 8th Avenue (259A 55th street) in Manhattan, as he currently serves as the company's Special Advisor to Strategic Relationships. This ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at X:XXpm on October XX.
During his reign in baseball, Jackson helped the Yankees win two consecutive World Series titles and he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1993. The outfielder is most notably known for his clutch power hitting during the 1977 World Series games when he hit three home runs in three consecutive at-bats and carried a .450 average , earning him the notroious nickname "Mr. October." Jackson will be the fifth inductee to be honored by Gray Line New York, for his exemplary representation of New York City.
Since 1926, Gray Line New York has been a proud staple of the New York City tourism industry, bringing visitors to all the must-see stops in New York City on its signature red double-decker tour buses. Now with its continuing "Ride of Fame" campaign, Gray Line New York is recognizing and honoring leading New Yorkers, whom they identify as exemplary community figures by bestowing a bus in their fleet to each dedicatee.
